Echo Show 8 Review - Price Guide

home sound systems

The Echo Show 8 smart display is great for activating with your voice. It can be used to control smart lights and doorbells, stream podcasts and music, get news updates and more. The included Amazon Photos app with its eight-inch HD display can be used to make it a digital photo frame.

The 8-inch screen makes it easy to watch movies, TV and sports on the go, as well see the weather, traffic and headlines. Your smart home devices can be controlled with a single touch, including your thermostat and lights.

Echo Show 8 is a good value for money. The large display is easy to read from any angle and the two 52mm nickel drivers can double as speakers.

It can also control connected video security cameras, such as Wyze Cams or Ring, so you can check what's happening at your home any time you like. It is more affordable than the motorized Show 10 by over $100, and includes a host other features such as Alexa voice control, Alexa Shopping Assistance, and many others.

Although the screen isn’t sharper than an iPad or other tablet it’s still good for viewing short videos, cooking instructions, and some shorter shows via Amazon Prime Video. The screen can hold up to 10 images simultaneously so you will never run out.

The sound quality is superb, with crisp mids and highs as well as a rich bass response. It's easy to hear the differences in songs and is much better than Show 5's 1.7 inch speakers.

The Echo Show 10 is a great option for those who want a more immersive sound experience. The Show 8 comes with two 2-inch neodymium speaker that are excellent in the low end, and a passive-bass radiator that does a fantastic job of maintaining the lows nice & steady.

The speaker isn't very powerful and can have a bit of bass rolloff if the volume is too high. The Show 5 is still a better speaker.

The first-gen camera features a 13-megapixel camera that can preserve your image in low light conditions. You can zoom in on your conversation partners with the new pan feature, while a mechanical privacy shutter allows you to disable the camera whenever you wish.

It is possible to set up a shared screen for family and friends where they can share their pictures. It's quite cool and I wish we could have seen this on Show 8 last year.

The Echo Show 8 adds a lot to any home. It's a great deal, and can save you time and hassle for just $130

FAQ

How do you choose the right size speakers for your needs?

It is best to first assess how much space you have within your home. Do you want to fill every corner of your home with speakers? Or would you rather keep things simple by adding a few speakers in key areas?

The second factor to consider is what kind of music you plan to listen to. If you prefer classical music, you may need smaller speakers. You might need larger speakers if you like rock 'n roll.

You should also consider whether your speakers will be wired, or wireless. To transfer power and signals, wired speakers use wires. Wireless speakers don't require cables. They are however not as powerful and reliable as wired models.

Which is the best sound system to listen to music?

We've heard a lot about the Bose QuietComfort 25 recently. But we also love our Beats headphones and have used them for years. Which are we more fond of?

The answer depends on how much money you want to spend and whether you want to hear audio quality or comfort. If money is not an issue, the Bose QuietComfort might be the best option. Beats are worth considering if you care more about comfort.

There are many great options available for both. Sony WH1000XM3 noise cancelling wireless headphones are extremely popular.

However, no matter what set you choose to purchase, ensure that you get the best value for money. This means you should choose headphones that have a long battery life. Remember that wired headphones are more durable than wireless headphones because they don’t need batteries.

How can I build my own home theater?

A variety of methods can be used to create custom home theaters. One way is by using off-the-shelf equipment from various manufacturers. Another option is to build it all yourself. Either way, you're going to need a few basic tools.

For starting from scratch, you will need a drill bit, saws (screwdrivers), hammers and measuring tape. To make your work easier, you might also want to purchase a sturdy workbench.

If you decide to use prebuilt components, you'll need a DVD player, satellite dish, TV tuner card, cable box, Blu-ray disc player, wireless keyboard and mouse, and speakers. You'll also need a computer running Windows 7 or later and an HDMI cable.

An alternative option is to purchase a complete unit. This will allow you to save money, but it won't give you the same customization options as if you built one yourself.

Once everything is arranged, you need to install the components. Attaching the satellite dish will be necessary to mount it on the roof of your home. Next, mount your television screen in the living room. Finally, you'll connect your speakers to the wall near the back of your room.
